Netgear N300 Wireless Router setup – installation using a wireless device

It is not necessary to use a desktop computer to install your Netgear N300 wireless router- Netgear router setup (routerlogin.net setup) for the first time, but you can always use your wireless networking devices such as laptop, smart phone, or tablet.

All you need to do is to connect your wireless networking device such as your smartphone to the preset wireless settings of your Netgear N300 wireless router and then configure the device for Internet connection. Routerlogin.net setup

Follow the steps below to install your NETGEAR N300 wireless router using any wireless device:
  • Establish a connection between your Netgear N300 router and DSL/Cable modem using an Ethernet cable by connecting it from yourv modem to the Internet port of your Netgear N300 router. Netgear router setup

  • Connect your DSL/Cable to the power and turn it on. The lights on the modem will turn solid in a while.
  • Then, switch on your Netgear N300 router after connecting it to the power and wait for the LEDs on the Netgear N300 wireless router to become stable.
  • Locate the preset wireless settings mentioned on the back or at the bottom of your Netgear N300 router as you will need them for Netgear router setup process ahead.
  • Access your wireless device and open the Wi-Fi connection manager on it and search for the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) of your Netgear N300 router as per the preset wireless settings that you located.
  • Connect to the SSID of your Netgear N300 router using the passphrase.

  • On the Netgear router login page, enter the default Netgear router login username, which is admin, and the default password, which is password, and click on Login option.
  • The NETGEAR Genie will then configure the device for the internet connection type.

Note: For DSL internet connection, you may need to get your PPPoE login credentials from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to properly configure your Netgear N300 router.

You have now successfully performed Netgear N300 Wireless Router setup and installation using a wireless device.
